Teak Furniture
When you shop for teak furniture look into how the wood
was harvested. Inquire to see if the teak wood was cut in a way that
did not threaten the natural teak plants' population. Stores that do
not threaten the natural teak population will usually advertise their
ethics.
These stores also point out that there is a substantial difference
between natural and plantation grown teak wood. Have your sales representative
explain to you the advantages and disadvantages of each when you shop
for teak furniture. Most environmentally conscious buyers feel better
knowing that teak wood can remain undisturbed in its natural state.
Teak furniture can be extremely versatile. One new piece introduced
for 2008 is the Boston Teak Bar Set. (You can find it online.) This
is a trio of table and stools with weather resistant properties. Also
note that teak wood is resistant to rotting and shipping as well as
termite infestation.
