There are over 250 species of Oak, but most of these are generally grouped into white and red Oak. Both white and red Oak are equally good for making Oak furniture. However, consumers should note that the tint of red Oak allows for a unique shade to the furniture.

The finest of Oak furniture features wood that is imported. While American Oak is quite durable, Oak from other countries can have a finer texture. European Oak is quite popular.

Oak furniture offers more variety for colors than almost any other type of furniture. This is because Oak is an open grained wood. Therefore, you can use different color shellac and stain for a two-tone finish.
