In cities with large student populations free furniture can be seen tossed on the street during September when leases end. It may be tempting to haul away such pieces and decorate the home with them. However, interior designers caution against such a move.

Furniture purchases express personality. Therefore, designers suggest consumers know what they want before they buy. Don't be seduced by sales and low prices.

In addition, ergonomic specialists recommend buying comfortable furniture. An office worker can spend eight hours a day in a chair. Therefore, it makes sense for the consumer to find something that is both comfortable and attractive. Furniture will last for years so invest as much money as possible in a couch, chair, desk etc.
